Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we offer limited financial aid that is entirely need-based.
Our financial aid only covers tuition costs; it does not cover travel, accommodations, or other expenses.
To apply for financial aid, visit the financial aid application pages for the conference you are registering for. You must submit a 1099 Tax Form with your parent’s financial information, along with any other relevant financial documents. If you are from outside the United States, please submit the equivalent of an Income Tax Return.

Founded in 1873, The Crimson has a long-standing tradition of excellence in journalism and has trained many prominent journalists, authors, and public figures.

The Crimson Journalism Summit is designed to give students an immersive experience in professional journalism, allowing them to learn from some of the best in the field while gaining hands-on experience in reporting, writing, and media production.
The Crimson Journalism Summit is a two-day immersive experience designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of journalism through expert-led seminars, interactive workshops, and hands-on reporting. Participants will learn essential skills such as crafting compelling stories, interviewing sources, and navigating journalistic ethics. They will also explore multimedia reporting, opinion writing, and specialized topics like political and sports journalism. Throughout the program, students will engage with distinguished journalists from The New York Times, The Washington Post, NBC, and CNN, gaining first hand insight into the realities of the field.
A key component of the summit is the Journalism Project, where students work in teams to investigate a real-world story in Harvard Square, producing an article, video, or podcast. The program culminates in a showcase of their work, followed by a Certificate of Completion. Additional highlights include a Breaking News Simulation, panels on media careers and college admissions, and an exclusive Q&A with The Harvard Crimson’s President. This summit provides aspiring journalists with an unparalleled opportunity to develop reporting skills, network with professionals, and experience the fast-paced world of journalism.
